L22O Series Rear Mounting Anti-Vandal Switch

One example is the L22O Series Rear Mounting Anti-Vandal Switch, which features a bushing diameter of 22 millimeters, a body height of approximately 34 millimeters, and a panel thickness range of 2 to 10 millimeters. It also includes a rear mount measuring about 24 millimeters.

Technically, the L22O Series has a maximum switch rating of 50mA/24VDC. It offers a contact resistance of ≤100 milliohms and an insulation resistance of ≥1000 milliohms. Its dielectric strength is 2000VAC. This technical data may be useful for testing the switch's ability to handle or resist electrical current flow.

As with any electrical component, its lifespan is longer when not in use and shorter when connected to full load current. The L22O features a mechanical life of approximately 1 million cycles—a considerable lifespan when idle—and an electrical life of 50,000 cycles when under current load. 

In terms of material composition, the L22O is constructed from several materials. Its switch assembly is made of UL94V-A-rated polyamide, commonly known as nylon. The tags and terminals are both made from copper alloy, while the body and button are made from high-quality stainless steel. The lens and lens body are made from polycarbonate. It also utilizes silicone for the internal seal and nitrile for the O-ring.

These materials contribute to the durability and reliability of the L22O Series. In fact, it provides notably high protection against dust and water ingress. There may be limitations regarding water penetration, as it cannot be submerged in deep water for extended periods. However, small amounts of liquid will not harm this switch. Anti-vandal switches are specifically designed for harsh conditions, and with the L22O Series' IK09 rating, it is resistant to intentional external mechanical impacts—though this may vary if the impact exceeds ten joules.

The L22O is also customizable. Its lens can be illuminated or non-illuminated based on your requirements. Illumination options include dot and ring styles, both available in various LED colors such as white, yellow, blue, green, and red. The red and yellow LEDs have a base voltage of 1.8V at 20mA, while white, blue, and green LEDs have a base voltage of 2.8V at 20mA. All voltages can be adjusted according to your requirements, including 3.3V, 6V, 12V, 24V, and 36V.
